Is Jubilee afraid of a possible Mudavadi-Kalonzo 2017 pair up?

The Jubilee coalition is afraid of a Mudavadi-Kalonzo pair up at the 2017 general elections, and wants CORD leader Raila Odinga to be the coalition’s flag bearer in the polls.
A Jubilee insider, who requested anonymity because he is authorized to speak on behalf of the party, told News24kenya that Jubilee is praying hard and working to see that Odinga declines to endorse Mudavadi as the opposition presidential candidate in 2017.
According to the source UhuRuto are aware of the upset a Mudavadi- Kalonzo ticket can cause at the ballot and will do anything possible to have Raila on the ballot because they believe it will be easier for them to defeat Raila than Mudavadi.
He said that Jubilee wants Mudavadi to run as a separate candidate so that he can eat into Raila’s vote basket.
“It will be tricky for jubilee if Raila decides to endorse the Mudavadi- Kalonzo ticket and if that happens then Jubilee might lose the 2017 polls,” he said.
“Jubilee wants Raila to be on the ballot because they will it will be easier to defeat Raila as opposed to Mudavadi and jubilee will work behind the scenes to scuttle any possibility of Raila endorsing Mudavadi,” he added.
“You can imagine a scenario where Raila says Mudavadi tosha, this will mean that Mudavadi will have western, Nyanza, coast, Nairobi and Eastern under his arm and this will complicate things for jubilee and this is something jubilee will work hard to avoid,” he said.
Political speculations are rife that Raila might endorse a Mudavadi- Kalonzo ticket to battle with President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto in the 2017 polls.
