Nakuru - Leaders in Nakuru town have raised a red flag over the increased day time commercial sex work activities in Nakuru town.
Nakuru women representative Mary Mbugua, said that some streets in Nakuru town have been taken over by sex workers who ply their trade during the day.
Speaking Tuesday at Nakuru town,Mbugua said that day time sex workers are turning Nakuru town into a brothel.
She called on the county government to rein on the day time sex workers who she said are tarnishing the towns image.
"There are so many girls lining along some streets in town during the day and this is becoming a common thing which should be stopped,"said Mbugua.
"We as leaders cannot allow Nakuru to be turned into a daytime brothel and the county government must act to stop this business,"she added.
Mbugua said that young school girls are being lured into the business saying some of them have dropped out of school to fully engage in sex work.
"Some school girls pretend that they are going to school but on reaching town they change clothes and line along the streets to engage in sex work,"she said.
