Moyale - Four people among them a government officer have been arrested by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officials in Isiolo County for assisting illegal migrants from Ethiopia to enter into the country.
The officer works in the Regional Immigration office in Moyale town.
The EACC officials decided to lay ambush after receiving several complaints about the Immigration officer's misconduct.
Upper Eastern EACC Director, Ignatius Wekesa said police had also arrested several Ethiopian migrants who are currently at Moyale police station pending further investigations.

“We have been receiving complaints and reports that some unscrupulous government officers at the Moyale-Ethiopia border have been aiding aliens to enter the country without legal documents. The Commission has been monitoring the officer for a while until his arrest,” said Wekesa.
He divulged that the suspect was issuing travel documents to illegal migrants at a bargained fee of KES 30 000 using the other three suspects who worked as brokers.
Wekesa expressed disappointment that public servants were facilitating illegal migrants in spite of security concerns in the country.
