Nairobi - I'm working with President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto, an ODM Governor has told Raila Odinga.
Wycliffe Oparanya of Kakamega says that he is still in ODM despite the move.
He says that he cannot ignore the head of state because he is still the main man in the country and that he is happy to ensure that his people move forward.
" I have told my party leader that I will work with the head of state and his deputy to improve the lives of my people," he told News24 on phone.
He added that the move must not be interpreted to mean he is leaving the Orange Party.
" That does not mean I am leaving ODM and I will defend my seat come 2017 with the party," he added.
The utterances come just a few days after senior party members quit the party over alleged frustration.
They include Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba and Funyula's Paul Otuoma.
