I’m tired of Raila promises, ODM MP says

Nairobi - An ODM MP says that he is tired of the
failed promises by CORD leader Raila Odinga.
South Mugirango MP Manson Nyamweya says
that the ODM leader has no means of winning the 2017 elections and that the
Kisii community is tired of supporting losing causes.
He says that there is already a big
indication that Raila will lose the 2017 elections, thus the move by Kisii
leaders to shift allegiance to the Jubilee Coalition.
“ Kisii’s want development. They are tired
of being in the opposition. We will seek a move that will help us cease being
in the opposition,” he told News24 Monday.
He insisted that he and other leaders were
genuinely looking for better lives for their people, thus the urge to negotiate
with the government of the day.
“ Our people are demanding better and if
that will see us in a new coalition, so be it,” he added.
Nyamweya missed a weekend meeting in Kisii
between Raila and ODM leaders from the region but did not disclose why he did.
“ I had other prior engagements and as
well, the meeting was last minute,” he stated.
President Uhuru Kenyatta will visit Kisii
this week, so it remains to be seen whether he and other rebel leaders will be
