Nairobi - I will run for the Presidency in 2022, a Jubilee Party official has said.
Former Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo says that he will run for the Presidency come the 2022 polls.
He says that after serving Kenyans well in his previous capacities, he is ready to delve into elective politics.
" I will vie for the Senate seat in Elgeyo Marakwet next year and, God willing, my name will also be on the presidential ballot in 2022, like others" Kimaiyo told News24.
He accused the current regime of not living up to the expectations of Kalenjin people who have supported them through thick and thin.
" Kalenjins have been supportive of government but nothing has come back in return. We need to see change," he added.
Kimaiyo will be on a collision course with Deputy President Wiliam Ruto who is also seeking to run for the Presidency come 2022.
