Nairobi - I'm joining Jubilee because my people are poor, CORD Governor says.
Lamu Governor Issa Timamy says that he is happy to join the Jubilee Coalition as they have tried their utmost to ensure that the lives of his people improve.
He says that he leaves the United Democratic Front UDF having served his time but says that now is the time to move for the sake of his people.
" I have held talks with the Jubilee leadership and they are keen to help Lamu move from where it is to better," he told News24 on phone.
He said that sticking in the opposition is of no consequence to his people.
" They did not choose to be in the opposition. They voted to have leadership that can improve their lives and we are yet to see any of that right now," he added.
Timamy says that he will be in Nairobi for the Jubilee Party launch on Saturday.
