Nairobi - Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has been admitted to hospital after falling ill during his stay in Police custody last week.
Kuria failed to appear in court Tuesday to answer to charges of Hate Speech in which he has been accused of spewing hate on social media site Facebook.
The Facebook hate speech case against the Gatundu South MP was adjourned by trial magistrate Teresa Nyangene Tuesday
morning after it emerged that the accused was admitted to the Karen
Hospital last week.
Lawyer Danson Mungatana told the court that Kuria was discharged
on Sunday but given a sick off for the next two weeks after which his
health condition will be re-evaluated.
The magistrate therefore rescheduled the hearing of the case to January 12.
The Gatundu South MP was on Wednesday last week charged for calling
on youth in his constituency to attack with Panga's (machetes) those opposed to National Youth
Service NYS projects.
Kuria was not in court Tuesday.
