Nairobi - If I don't quit ODM I will lose in 2017, an MP has said.
Igembe Central MP Kubai Iringo says that he will lose his seat if he goes with ODM as his Meru backyard is a Jubilee stronghold.
He says that he fears losing his seat after doing well during his term simply because he has been a part of the Orange Party.
He spoke at Orange House in Nairobi during disciplinary hearings for leaders who have quit ODM and joined the Jubilee Party.
" Simply it is not logical. For me who is working in a Jubilee stronghold, you have to understand my position," the MP pleaded with the committee.
The rebel MP also cited unfair party nominations in 2013, when some of them had to be given certificates through the court as one of the reasons they are quitting ODM.
They accused ODM of dishonesty, saying party leader Raila Odinga and the party have also been receiving defectors.
The MPs and leaders are fighting to stop the party from revoking their membership, which will mean them having to go through a by election.
