IEBC to hire 2,878 Kenyans

08 January 2016, 15:14 Victor Tinto

Nairobi - The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commision IEBC will employ 2,878 Kenyans in various roles.

The IEBC will employ the said Kenyans on a temporary basis to help in voter registration around the country.

The jobs will run from 3 to 6 months respectively.

" We are looking to hire as many as 2,878 Kenyans to help in the voter registration process which is due to start in the coming months," IEBC boss Isack Hassan told News24.

" This is an important process which will need more staff to handle the millions of voter registration documents we are bound to receive," he added.

The IEBC says that it is looking to register as many as 8 million Kenyans for the upcoming Elections to take the number of registered voters to 17 million.

" There are many Kenyans that have attained the voting age and we are calling on them to come out and register," he continued.

He also called on Kenyans not to be duped into paying bribes to secure the jobs.

" We will have an open, free and fair process and we ask Kenyans to not pay anyone any money in the promise of securing the jobs, " he asserted.
