Nairobi - The IEBC must be shifted out of office, a Jubilee Coalition leader has said.
Kithure Kindiki the Senate Majority Leader says that there cannot be an electoral body that divides Kenyans that can be allowed to operate and cause further damage to the nation.
He insists that as a result it must be reconstituted with immediate effect.
" The IEBC must be reconstituted and a new electoral body put in place if that is what will make there be peaceful elections," he said Monday.
He stated that he was happy with where current talks on the IEBC had reached and called on Kenyans to be ready to fight for peace in the country.
" We must have a peaceful nation and a well run election and that is what really matters to the nation," he added.
There are ongoing talks between the two main Political sides which is centred on ensuring that the IEBC is reconstituted and that the country goes into the 2017 elections in a happy place.
