IEBC deal done, but issues not fully addressed democratically

Nairobi - The Parliamentary-Select Joint Committee may have completed the task given on reforming the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in Kenya but complex issues may not have been fully addressed.
The Jubilee-Cord Team of Parliamentarians on Tuesday concluded the 30 day reforms with the agreement of having the new blood in the democratic commission that has since faced lots of challenges and political battle ground.
The deal arrived may only serve the interests of the leading coalitions in the country for short term period but will have less impact on others and future of the important democratic commission in the country.
The IEBC Commissioners have been disbanded without all the stakeholders having a listening ear to the commissioners with some sects of the panel having already decided minds and outcomes.
This might go down to play a big role in a seasonal commission with issues that has bedeviled the commission since the bitterly disputed 2007 elections.
Structured Democratic Dialogue design and Process was not fully followed by all the stakeholders that determined the exit of the 9 commissioners but rather political decisions and interests of the two coalitions.
Structured Democratic Dialogue Process works in solving complex issues in the society by the help of clearly drafted triggering question by the facilitators that at first will look to identify challenges and problems that have faced the commission since.
The process gives every stakeholder a chance to give the idea opinion and clarify or rather justify with tangible evidence then similarity and affection of the ideas is determined to find the root causes of the issues affecting the commission.
The root causes will appear at the base of the graph, which when solved and addressed can lead to a stable commission.
The Participants furthermore has to discuss the possible actions of settling the issues with everyone giving idea and clarifying it in few sentences with similar ideas clustered, and voted. The ideas that are found on the root of the table are those that are of utmost importance if adopted and worked upon.
None of the above was done and the root causes of the failure by the commission have not been established. What is going to change is the commissioners but the issues of address of the electoral process will still hang on the necks of the incoming commissioners.
Though not all is lost, there is still chance for Structured Democratic Dialogue Process (SDDP) in this issue so that we can address the IEBC matters for long. The system is a new scientific method of holding dialogue into fruitful arrival.
This will ensure that even when the commissioners leave, a good state of affairs is left behind for others to pick and move forward. The technology is always changing and the SDDP goes with it in solving complex issues in the society.
