Bomet - Bomet Governor, Isaac Ruto has said that he will support President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election bid in 2017.
Speaking in Bomet, Ruto distanced himself from claims that he was joining the CORD coalition saying such claims were being propagated by his opponents.
"I have not joined CORD and have no plans of doing so. Let it be clear that I will support President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election," he said.

The Bomet Governor however said that he will seek re-election using his newly formed Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party after he realized that Jubilee Party has preferred candidates.
"Jubilee Party have said that they have preferred candidates and it will be meaningless for me to join it," he said.
Ruto has been at loggerheads with Deputy President William Ruto accusing the DP of being intolerant to divergent views and democracy in the region.
