Nairobi - An ODM leader has told party chief Raila Odinga that he has not joined the Jubilee Party despite rumours to the contrary.
Senator Chris Obure has denied leaving ODM for the ruling party.
According to Raila, in a meeting between the two, Obure stated that he has not quit ODM and remains a part of the opposition party despite being linked a number of times with the Jubilee Coalition.
" I met Chris Obure who told me he has not gone to Jubilee, but was only
invited to State House to talk about the welfare of his people," he said Tuesday at Orange House in Nairobi.
Obure among other opposition members have been meeting the President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto in recent weeks, with talk of an alliance between Jubilee and the Gusii people spoken of loudly.
However, Raila says that he is certain the ballot will reflect differently come election time.
" I have gone around the country and met citizens who are dissatisfied with Jubilee. They will show that at the ballot," he added.
Obure was not available for comment when reached by News24.
