I don't want excuses, Uhuru tells new CS's over corruption

Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta says he does not want any excuses from the newly sworn in Cabinet Secretaries as regards corruption in their ministries.
The President, speaking during their swearing in ceremony at State House Friday, insisted that the weight of ensuring there is no corruption at ministry level is down to the CS' and that he will not condone any excuses over the same.
" You are on your own. There are no excuses when it comes to corruption," he told them during the ceremony.
In the previous cabinet, there were murmurings of discontent among CS' who blamed junior officers for corruption but according to Uhuru, there is only one boss.
" You are the bosses. You are in-charge. The rest are not," he added.

The exercise has not been without controversy, with the process on the verge of being stopped on a number of occasions due to court cases that were however unsuccessful.
