I do not have a problem with Kalenjins, Jubilee Senator says

Nairobi - A Jubilee Party Senator has denied claims that he is involved in frustrating Kalenjins in government.
Kipchumba Murkomen, the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator says that he did not play a role in the sacking of former Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo.
He says instead, that he is not the appointing authority in such matters.
Murkomen has been accused by Kimaiyo's supporters of shortchanging Kalenjins but he says it is all hogwash.
" I am not the appointing authority. I am not even in the executive. I do not get how I could have played such a role," he stated.
He accused those spreading the stories of propagating hate to seek the collapse of the Jubilee Party.
" People will look for all kinds of reasons to fight Jubilee but it will
not work. DP Ruto is not a petty person to hound individuals. He has worked
well with President Kenyatta to ensure that all Kenyans, including
people of Rift Valley, benefit from government initiatives and
opportunities," he added.
Kimaiyo and Murkomen will face off in the 2017 polls for the Elgeyo Marakwet Senate seat.
