I am not injured, CORD MP says

01 April 2016, 20:30 William Korir

Nairobi - A CORD MP has said he is not injured despite being roughed up by Parliamentary guards.

Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi says that despite being roughed up by Parliamentary staff Thursday after being ordered out of the house, he is fine and was not injured.

Wandayi was kicked out of Parliament altogether and lifted out of the precincts after disobeying house standing orders.

He is not injured though.

" I would like to thank Kenyans for the prayers but I am fine and was not inured. I am ready to continue the fight to ease Kenya out of the burden of the Jubilee government and nothing will stop me," he stated.

Wandayi was among Members of Parliament who whistled a few minutes after President Uhuru Kenyatta stood to speak.

He is likely to remain locked out of the house for a long time after Speaker Justin Muturi invoked Standing Order number 3 in kicking him out of the house.

The standing order states that he will be out of the house till February 2017 unless the Speaker changes his mind.
