Kiambu - Kiambu Governor, William Kabogo was left with an egg in the face after a tour by President Uhuru Kenyatta in the region.
The Governor’s bitter rival, controversial Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu was cheered loudly by the crowd when he was introduced by Deputy President William Ruto, a matter that will definitely force Kabogo to go back to the drawing board.
Though no local leader was allowed a chance to speak throughout the day long visit by the country’s top two leaders, crowds widely cheered Waititu whenever his name was mentioned and jeered the Governor.
“Waititu is definitely a darling of the people and we shall elect him to office as Governor in 2017. You can tell he is the people’s choice by the roars and cheers he was receiving,” John Mwangi, a member of the public told News24 at Gatundu market where the President addressed a mammoth roadside meeting.
