How to keep a guy interested for a bit longer

14 June 2016, 16:16 Shakila Alivitsa

Nairobi - I am not going to say be sexy, be confident and dress well or smell nice because these are obvious. If you already don’t have these then I am confused.

Don’t be too obvious if you are already smitten

You know I have tried this thing about being upfront and not playing games or being an adult. But I have found that men are just not people you should listen to when it comes to themselves; they say one thing but mean the complete opposite.

Moral of the story; just let him chase. You can show he might have a chance but just don’t let a guy know straight out that he has you where he wants you.

You need to learn how to be interesting in conversation

I don’t know what either of you like but you need to just be spontaneous and be able to have a fun, open, flirty and interesting conversation; if you want the man to stick around. I am not saying you talk about sports if you have no clue about it because at the end of the day you also have to be yourself.  Politics get tense-you only argue politics when you are married. Heaven forbid you mention your side thinking it’s his as well. Politics are a no. I don’t know how you can be fun but just be fun and not about shoes and bags neither.

Don’t borrow money/ be financially secure

At times I think I am naïve. I had no idea how many women ask for money just on exchanging numbers. If the guy is not that important to you, then who am I to tell you no; on the other hand, if you actually want to have something with the guy, stay away from borrowing money. That is why you stay away from relationships if you are not doing well in the pocket.

Don’t make a guy feel insecure about himself

My friend asked her man to paint his eyebrows because they are too light. He asked if there is anything she even likes about him. See why I do not get relationships? Don’t be with someone if you are going to straighten them to fit you. You have the choice of getting what you like. That insecurity goes ahead and finds fulfillment elsewhere. You did that.
