How to find real love in these harsh economic times

30 May 2016, 17:04 Anne Mutinda

Dating in this harsh economy is such a hustle in itself. In fact, a guest in a local TV talk show advised men against dating if they are financially unstable.

But until when will you wait to be loaded to love and be loved back?

Well, love is not money but money is a necessity for love to bloom. It is regrettable that relationships are almost becoming subjects of the currency.

A woman wants a man with a heavy wallet and a man wants a woman with an impressive purse. But there is hope for those still hustling and in need of someone to share their troubles with.

These are simple tricks to win real love when your pockets are dry:

1) Show potential for success

You may not have anything today but if you are a hardworking man, you will succeed someday. God does not leave his people to suffer for too long. He will reward you. And so if you are really dying for a girl and you have nothing to offer, show her how much effort you are putting to change your life. If she is surely interested in you, she will stick by your side and support you.

2) Be real and honest

There are men who ridiculously show off to impress a girl when he perfectly knows he is a robot on hire. The shoes he wears to a date are borrowed. Simply, retain the person you are. You may not agree, but women love honest men who could prefer to walk bare foot to a date than borrow shoes to impress her just for a date. Women are interested in the virtues that build a relationship and not one-day show offs.

3) Be open.

Take your girl to 'dunga'. The eatery where a sack is a roof and a wall. The food is very cheap but very fresh. At least, that is what you can afford. Let your girl know that your current financial situation cannot afford her a teapot in a five-star hotel but show her hopes of getting there. Don't borrow money to accommodate her eating or dressing style because soon creditors will catch up with you. And she will run away from your lies. To find love feels goods but to maintain it is another thing. Combine the three and you will find a real woman to call a friend and a lover.
