Nairobi - The jubilee party used lies and false promises to lure CORD defectors into the party.
According to ODM’s director of constitutional affairs Kipkorir Menjo, CORD defectors who moved to jubilee were promised direct nominations and fully sponsored campaigns, things he said were used as baits to trap the CORD defectors.
Menjo said that the defectors were also promised KES 30 million each upon defecting something eh said has not been fulfilled up to now.
“Jubilee is full of lies and unfulfilled promises. They tricked CORD members into effecting to the party by promising them, direct nominations and money for campaigns but that was just a bit to get them out of CORD,” said Menjo.
“Some were told they would get KES 30 million if they announce their defection to jubilee but it remained to be a promised even after they were paraded during the party launch,” he said.
Menjo added that the defections had no impact on CORD since those who decamped had little influence in their constituencies and are not even sure of being elected in 2017.
“Some of those who defected are sure that they cannot be re-elected and they are running tot jubilee with the aim of being given government jobs just in case they get rendered useless in 2017,”he said.
He added that the coalition has already attracted strong candidates who want to vie against those who defected to jubilee and warned them to be ready for a real embarrassment
