How does Raila know about Eurobond?
26 January 2016, 16:34
Nairobi - CORD leader Raila Odinga has been involved in talk of the Eurobond transactions but why and on what grounds?
Central Bank of Kenya chairman Mohamed Nyaoga says that Raila has no justification to make the claims since he is not in government and does not have any information over the Bond.
Nyaoga says that Odinga's claims are baseless and have no facts since he knows nothing about the transactions.
" Raila is not a public servant well placed to know the government transaction," he said Tuesday as he presented a defamation suit against the CORD leader in a Nairobi Court.
Odinga named Nyaoga in a list of 10 people he says were involved in the theft of the KES 400 billion Eurobond.
Nyaoga has so far denied any involvement and states that the transactions were done at the CBK before he arrived.

" The KES 173, 017, 599, 948 is the amount that was transacted when I
had not been appointed the chairman board of directors of the Central
Bank of Kenya,” Nyaoga argued.
He wants the CORD leader to pay him a fee for ruining his name by linking him to such a high profile scandal. He says that he has built his reputation for over 20 years.
The CORD leader has tried to end the issue out of court by stating in public that Nyaoga is clean but the CBK chair does not want it to slide too easily.
" The CBK Governor was named in the list due to his position and his office which is directly linked with the Eurobond transactions.
