Harambee Stars arrive in Cape Verde 4 hours to kick-off

Nairobi - National team Harambee Stars has finally landed in Praia Cape Verde, 4 hours before a crucial World Cup qualifier against the hosts this evening.
The Stars have taken nearly 20 hours to get to the Island nation after a shambolic chartered flight from Nairobi Monday night.
With an issue of allowances as well as the payment of the plane owners taking place, it forced the Stars to depart on the eve of the clash and will have little to no time to rest ahead of the clash.
The clash kicks off at 10 PM Kenyan time.
The Stars lead 1-0 and will move forward to Russia 2018 if they can pick up a win or any sort of draw.
The late departure of the Stars from the country caused uproar on social media, with the government forced into a last minute solution to ensure that the country was spared the embarrassment of forfeiting the clash.
" We are finally here," Team Manager Willis Waliaula told News24 on phone.
Football Kenya Federation chair Sam Nyamweya was earlier in the day arrested over the saga and questioned over the reasons why the team has been heavily mismanaged.
According to sources, Nyamweya was handed KES 26 million by the government to book the flights and pay allowances of the players but he failed to and on time, thus the arrest.
On release from custody in the afternoon, Nyamweya did not make any statement to members of the press.
