Govt suspends medical camps organized by foreign doctors

Nairobi - The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists board has suspended medical camps organized by foreign doctors until further notice.
The medical regulating body through the office of its chief executive officer, Daniel Yumba made the announcement Thursday afternoon in a Press Release signed by the Medical board chairman, Prof. George Magoha suspending all foreign doctors from organizing any medical camp until further notice.
The board is mandated under cap 253 of the Kenyan laws to regulate the practice of medicine, dentistry and health care institutions in the county.
Only medical camps organized by local doctors, professional association and institutions who must seek clearance first from the medical practitioners and dentist board and respective County governments will be allowed.
