Kisumu - Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma has said pioneer ODM governors should not be subjected to nominations ahead of 2017 general elections.
Speaking during the burial of Mzee Joel Nakitari, the father to Kisumu County Secretary Humphrey Nakitari at Bukhayo West in Busia on Saturday, Ranguma said they deserve direct tickets.
"Governors had very little time to change lives of citizens. They have now matured politically to take their counties to greater heights if they win their seats next year," he said.

Flanked by his Busia counterpart Sospeter Ojaamong, Ranguma said they know wananchi's expectations were high when they took over in 2013 but the Governors were contented with only 15 per cent of the National budget with 85 % remaining in Nairobi.
Ojaamong said they will campaign for party leader Raila Odinga in their respective counties.
"I will continue to respect Raila for the role he has done in liberating the country."
He said Jubilee had tarnished its reputation after buying opposition MPs, some of whom had opted to hide themselves after exhausting the money.
