Nairobi - Nairobi County Deputy Governor Jonathan Mueke has accused Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua of impeaching his deputy.
According to Mueke, the Governor has mistreated his deputy Bernard Kiala forcing him to vacate office and even turned down an offer from the Council of Governors (CoG) to have them reconcile.
“Would anyone want to be Mutua’s deputy judging by how he’s treated his deputy?
“Mutua is the only Governor in this country who has impeached his deputy. He withdrew his car, staff, allowances and medical cover. He was called in and said that that was a Machakos issue and failed to show up for mediation,” Mueke said.

Mueke called on Mutua to quickly mend ties with Kiala saying their bad relationship in Machakos was going to spoil the name of the counties.
However, Mutua defended himself against Mueke’s accusations saying Kiala became a traitor and was working with the County Senator to plot for his downfall.
“My deputy became a traitor, plotting against me with the Senator. The Senator is trying to remove me because I am not subscribing to these old-school politics. As soon as he got in, he started opposing me,” Mutua said adding that Kiala does not come to work despite his office remaining open.
