Kirinyaga - Kirinyaga Governor Joseph Ndathi’s brother, Gichobi Ndathi has recorded a statement with police on allegations that he threatened to kill the Governor over a KES 7.2 million.
Gichobi told police that he gave the Governor’s allies the money during the 2013 general elections to boost his campaigns hoping that he would be awarded with tenders as payback.
Gichobi accused the Governor of ignored him after assuming office and said that he wants his money back.

However, the Governor denied the allegations saying he owes nothing to his brother.
He also wondered why he has remained quiet since 2013 only to make the claims a year to the next election.
He suspected there could be some people fueling the issue to ensure his political downfall.
The Governor said he cannot take the issue lightly because his brother has a criminal record, noting that in 1990s he served a two-year sentence at Kamiti prison for robbery with violence.
He noted that he got his brother out of jail after he changed.
