Machakos - Machakos Governor, Dr Alfred Mutua has declared Machakos roads pothole free as part of his Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement.
Speaking Thursday when he supervised the filling of the last pothole along Machakos-Kangundo road, Mutua said the development makes Machakos the only County with smooth tarmac roads 24/7.
He lamented that potholes have cost Kenyans a lot of money, and promised to work on potholes in the County as soon as they occur.
“It is disturbing to know a pothole costs the taxpayer more money if left to become the size of a shoe, mtungi, car … Potholes in Machakos will be sealed when they are the size of a coin within 48 hours,” he assured.
He also launched a short code service 22502 for reporting potholes within the County.
“This is part of the Maendeleo Chap Chap paradigm that is also witnessing ongoing construction of 10 new tarmac roads,” he added.
