Nairobi - A Jubilee Party MP says that Eugene Wamalwa the Water CS
should take his political aspirations back to western Kenya.
According to Dagoretti MP Dennis Waweru, the City cannot be
taken charge of by persons who have no more interest in the seat other than
He argued that the big seat of Nairobi Governor must be the
reserve of those that have a footing in the city and not just any outsider.
“The city cannot be a breeding ground for persons who have
no interest in the seat other than fame. Nairobi needs a personal touch. It
needs people who understand it and are ready to bleed for it,” he told News24.
Wamalwa for the longest time has been keen on the Trans
Nzoia Governor’s position but in recent times has been pushed to contest in
Nairobi by his New Ford Kenya party.
Waweru is competing with Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko,
former Starehe MP Margaret Wanjiru and nominated MP Johnson Sakaja for the
nomination to be the Jubilee candidate for the Nairobi seat.
Wamalwa on the other hand is not afraid of the rhetoric
levelled against him.
“I, like any other Kenyan has a right to contest wherever he
likes and I will do so,” he stated.
The heated nominations will be held early 2017.
