Nairobi - A 17-year-old girl has been arraigned in a Laikipia court for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend with a knife after arguing over a love text message.
She appeared before Resident Magistrate Samson Temu charged that on December 22, last year she allegedly stabbed Silas Simiyu on the left shoulder, using a sharp knife, leaving him badly injured and bleeding seriously.
Simiyu told the court that on the evening of the material day at their house, he had requested her to explain about a love text message in her phone from an unconfirmed sender but instead of explaining, she grabbed a knife and stabbed him.
Neighbors rescued him when he screamed for help, offered him first aid and took him to hospital for treatment.
He then took a P3 form and reported the matter to Kabaret Police station, leading to the arrest of the suspect and subsequent investigation into the matter.
The complainant also told the court that the accused had been threatening to kill him and had earlier stabbed him twice.
The accused however denied the charge as the case was set to be mentioned on February 11, this year.
