Nairobi - Two serving legislators and company CEOs are among the new Cabinet nominees by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Influential Kericho Senator Charles Keter, a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto is the new Energy Cabinet Secretary while Malindi MP Dan Kazungu was named the Mining Cabinet Secretary.
Former Laikipia East MP, Mwangi Kiunjuri will be incharge of the Devolution Docket which was left vacant following the resignation of Anne Waiguru last Sunday.
President Kenyatta nominated Kenya Seed Company Managing Director Willy Bett to head the Agriculture Ministry, replacing the suspended CS, Felix Koskey.
Nairobi Hospital CEO, Dr Cleophas Maillu is the nominee for the Health Ministry, whose previous CS James Macharia was moved to Roads and Transport.
Joe Mucheru, the Google Sub-Saharan Africa Ambassador and Country Manager for Kenya is now the new Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication Technology (ICT). He will be taking over from Fred Matiang’i, who will head the Education Ministry.
Prof. Jacob Kaimenyi who was at the helm of the Education is the new CS for Lands.
Mining CS Najib Balala has been moved to the Tourism docket, which he held between 2008 and 2012.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Services will be now headed by Ms Phylis Kandie, the immediate former CS for East African Affairs. She will be replacing former MP, Kambi Kazungu who was susspended over graft allegations in March.

President Kenyatta while announcing the new changes in his government Tuesday said he hopes the move will increase service delivery to Kenyans.
An elated Kericho Senator Charles Keter who is at the Hague for the Assembly of State Party meeting at the Hague in Netherlands immediately took to his Facebook page to expres his gratitude.
"I am happy for my nomination as CS Energy and would like to thank the President H.E Uhuru Kenyatta and the Deputy President William Samoei Ruto for having confidence in me. I am ready for the challenge ahead," he wrote on his official Facebook page.
