Laikipia - A fuel tanker bust into flames inside a petrol station at Matanya shopping centre in Laikipia County.
The driver was emptying the tanker when it unexpectedly caught fire which emanated from a nearby house.
However, the driver hurriedly drove the vehicle from the petrol station while the fuel was still leaking from one of the tanks and a flame followed it to the road, lighting the entire truck.
He jumped out of the lorry and escaped unhurt.
Residents tried to put off the fire but it was too fierce for the fire extinguishers from local business premises.
They watched in disbelief as the fire consumed the lorry as efforts to get assistance from Laikipia County fire brigade based in Nanyuki town were futile.
