Migori - An 87-year-old granny from Migori County can now afford a smile after finding her way out of Rongo police cell after well wishers paid her bail.
The granny was arrested by police and charged with being in possession of stolen property, namely two plastic chairs valued at KES 1000.
Risper Ogwena who spent her Christmas holiday in custody after failing to raise a cash bond of KES 5 000 would have been in custody till January 19 when her case was to be mentioned.

The granny who maintained her innocence could be a victim of circumstances after her son who is suspected to have stolen the goods escaped, leaving her in the police dragnet.
The son is still under pursuit by the officers.
Upon securing her release, Ogweno was taken to Machage Hospital for check ups before being released to go home.
Solomon Hodo, who is aspiring to run for the County Senatorial seat, paid her bail and also bought items like mattress and two new plastic chairs for her.
He however faulted the police for taking too long to let her go.
