Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta has mourned former MP Dick Wathika at his Nairobi home.
President Kenyatta Wednesday condoled the family of the late Dick Wathika at their Kigwa Ridge home.
The President described the late politician who also served as an Assistant Minister, as a long-time friend and "an exceptional leader who never harboured bitterness".
“He was a person who never kept grudges and if all leaders in this country had the character of the late Wathika, Kenya would be like paradise,” Uhuru said.
The President, who was accompanied by several leaders, urged others to "live with an open heart like the late Wathika because politics does not mean hatred for each other”.
He said Wathika introduced Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko to him despite losing to Sonko in the election for Makadara MP.
" He introduced me to Senator Sonko here despite being on the losing end," he added.
