Nairobi - KANU will support Raila Odinga come the 2017 elections.
Talk of a five party coalition to boost the CORD Coalition ahead of the 2017 elections has been rife and KANU is one of the said pillars in the group.
And according to sources close to the independence party, chairman Gideon Moi is open to supporting Odinga come 2017.
KANU is set to join the CORD Coalition and Raila is the only man seen capable enough of beating President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Jubilee fold.
" KANU is keen on joining CORD and Gideon Moi is up for it," the source stated.
When asked of the impending decision to support CORD, KANU Secretary General Nick Salat did not deny.
" I will not deny or agree but we are in talks with potential partners," he said.
Deputy President William Ruto has been openly abusing the Baringo Senator Moi, which according to sources is the key reason he is supporting Raila.
" Gideon is fed up of the DP's insults and will support Raila," the source added.
Moi was not available for comment.
