Nairobi - Former Inspector General (IG) of police, David Kimaiyo has announced that he will vie for Presidency in 2022.
Speaking in Kapsowar, Kimaiyo said if God allows him, he will be in the Presidential ballot then.
“If God wills, I will be on the presidential ballot paper in 2022 with others who will be vying,” announced the former police boss.
Kimaiyo said having served in government for more than 35 years, he has the experience and is well-placed for the presidency.
Kimaiyo, who was sacked recently as the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) chair, observed that he served in government for over three decades and under three Presidents diligently and without integrity issues.

"Kimaiyo is clean and has been in three consecutive governments without any blemish and is reason enough for me to say I am fit to serve in the highest office of the land,” he said.
He also announced that he will contest for the Elgeyo Marakwet County Senatorial seat in next year’s polls adding that his record in public service speaks for itself.
He further added that seeking any elective seat is his democratic right and nobody should question his intention to vie for the presidency.
“Every Kenyan has the right to vie and be elected and the decision on who will be president in 2022 is with the people of Kenya and not politicians,” he said.
