Nairobi - A number of major roads in Nairobi bore the brunt of heavy rains as they flooded Thursday evening following flash rains in the city.
Several roads including Kenyatta Avenue, and Ojijo Road in Parklands
This forced pedestrians to struggle to get through to get to different
parts of the city.
Traffic in and out of the city was also a major problem, with motorists urged to remain patient in the wake of serious delays.
"Motorists using Thika Superhighway are advised
to use alternative routes as the section at Pangani flyover is flooded,"
Kenya Red Cross said.
Politicians were not spared the effects of the rain too.
" Lost 3 hours at Kisumu Airport owing to Kenya Airways pilots strike. Now stuck on Mombasa Rd. You wonder whether we are really making progress ," Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar complained.
