Murang'a- A 52-year-old man has been hospitalized at Maragua District Hospital in Murang’a County after chopping off his manhood.
The hospital superintendent, Doctor Stephen Ngige said the man identified as Wilfred Kamande was bleeding profusely when he was taken to the hospital.
“We took him to the theatre and repaired his stump and put a catheter for passing the urine. We also did a blood transfusion as his haemoglobin was low,” said Doctor Ngige.
Kamande’s brother, James Kimani said that he heard his brother screaming and when he went to his house, he found him lying on his bed.

Kimani further explained that his brother has never been the same after losing his wife in January this year following a long illness, leaving him with five children.
“He said he had done it because there were people who have always been against him as they hated him,” said Kimani.
Kimani added that his brother also lost his daughter who left behind a child, and his eldest children are jobless.

“The orphaned grandchild used to benefit from the free cash transfer program but was removed from the list of beneficiaries under unclear circumstances,” he narrated.
