Family orders autopsy on kin allegedly killed by police

Nairobi - A family in Mwea constituency, Kirinyaga County, has ordered for an autopsy on the body of their kin following claims that died after being assaulted by police officers.
A senior detective in the area Boaz Obeto said the exercise will be carried out to establish what caused the death of Joseph Wanjohi who was a small scale farme
Family members said Wanjohi was attacked by a police officer at Kiangwaci market last weekend.
“We would like to establish if Joseph Wanjohi’s death was natural or as a result of injuries caused,” Obeto said at Wang’uru police station.
Obeto however said investigations indicated that the deceased had earlier been seen in a bar in the company of two other people and later started complaining of stomach pains.
