Nairobi - The family of a KDF soldier killed in the Al Adde attack in Somalia want his body released for burial, complaining they have waited for a long time to bury their son.
Michael Owino has been confirmed killed in the attack which took place January 15 and his body has been lying at the Chiromo Mortuary awaiting identification.
The 20 year old's body has been identified thanks to DNA testing and fingerprint searches but with the family receiving news of his death more than a week ago, the body has yet to be released.
" We are yet to get his body despite being told that he is no more," his uncle Nicholas told News24.
" It is agonizing for us to be at this point and to seek closure we ask that they release the body as soon as possible," he added.
The family plans bury him Friday 19 February.
He is among an unknown number of soldiers killed in the attack. The KDF is yet to say how many died as well as other important information.
