Nairobi - The family of a Kenya Defence Forces KDF soldier who died in the Al Adde attacks is yet to be compensated over his death.
Elias Kirionki died in the January 15 Al Adde attack in Somalia and was buried at his home in Kilgoris Wednesday.
His family though, says that they are yet to receive anything from the military and that they are not aware when and if it will come.
" Nothing as yet but we hope that there will be something for the family," James, Elias' uncle told News24.
He says that Elias was a brilliant soldier who had potential to grow into a senior officer.
" We were always told that he was brilliant and would grow into a huge officer one day. It is sad that his journey has ended so early," he added.
It is understood that families of the slain officers are expected to earn as much as KES 10 million each, from the African Union forces AMISOM and KDF.
So far, the number of soldiers killed in the attacks is yet to be known.
