Nairobi - A man who was allegedly masquerading as a high court advocate has been arrested in Nanyuki town, Laikipia County.
The suspect, Caleb Mutambi Musiebe alias Oraro was arraigned in a Nanyuki court facing three counts including impersonation, preparing false documents and pretending to be an advocate of the high court.
He was also accused of receiving KES.4,000 for offering legal services to Carolyne Wanjiku on April 23, 2016 at Kieni East, Nyeri County.
He faced another count of failing to obey orders and assaulting a police officer during his arrest.
It is alleged that the accused, who appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Evanson Ngigi, presented himself as Advocate Oraro of High Court.
He had initially been summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations but he ignored and when law enforcers went to his office last weekend, he assaulted a police officer in an attempt to resist arrest.
He however denied the charges and was released on a bond of KES.100, 000 with a surety of similar amount.
