Nairobi- Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko Mbuvi has called on Nairobi governor Evans Kidero to explain the source of the money that he intends to use it to finance Raila Odinga’s 2017 presidential campaigns.
Speaking to News24 on phone, Sonko said that Kidero’s remarks confirms his earlier assertions that the governor was misusing the county resources,
“I have said severally that there is a lot of theft of public money within the City hall and his remarks have confirmed. He should tell us where he got the money to finance a presidential campaign yet Nairobi residents are suffering”, he said.
Yesterday, Kidero said that he will personally finance the 2017 presidential campaigns for the Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga.
“I will make sure that Raila Odinga is elected the next President of the Republic of Kenya and I will bankroll the campaigns to match Jubilee’s," Kidero said.
Kidero and Sonko have been at loggerheads after the latter expressed his interest to unseat the governor on a Jubilee ticket during the 2017 general elections.
