Nairobi - Expect a hot, dry and dusty January, Kenyans have been told.
The Meteorological Department says that the dry weather will follow the just ended El Nino season which caused havoc in a number of places in the country.
Met Director James Kongoti says that the weather will affect many parts of Kenya even though some will get the occasional rainfall.
" We expect it to be very hot and dry in January 2016," he told News24 on phone.
Kongoti stated that areas such as western Kenya and the Coast however, will receive some rainfall.
" There are some areas that will get some slight rainfall but on the large we expect it to be very dry," he added.
Some parts of the country experienced serious rainfall in October and November which caused the loss of lives.
Over 40 people were said to have died and over 100 injured in the rainfall that especially affected Narok in the Rift Valley as well as parts of Western Kenya.
