Nairobi - The fact that Majority Leader in Parliament Aden Duale has been named in the National Youth Service NYS corruption saga is not surprising, a CORD MP has said.
Duale and Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen have been named by former Devolution CS Anne Waiguru as having taken part in the loss of KES 791 million at the NYS in a sworn affidavit.
They have so far denied the allegations.
According to Gwassi MP and ODM Chairman John Mbadi though, the allegations are not at all surprising considering the Jubilee government's record with graft.
" They are not surprising because the Jubilee government is not new to corruption scandals which are run from topmost positions in government," he said.
" The fact is that there is high level corruption and it has been proven with the number of ongoing cases linked to the government," he added.
Duale has said that Waiguru is an agent of the opposition which is being used to divide the Jubilee Coalition which Mbadi laughs off.
" She was a member of the Jubilee government. We know she is friends with them all. They supported her badly and now all of a sudden she is a friend of the opposition?," he posed.
Murkomen has promised to sue Waiguru if she does not provide solid evidence of the said corruption.
