Duale defends CORD from hooligan tag
31 March 2016, 21:30
Nairobi - Majority Leader Aden Duale has defended the CORD Coalition from claims of hooliganism in Parliament, saying that only a few MPs are to blame for the chaos witnessed before the State of the Nation Address.
A number of MPs from Luo Nyanza caused disruptions to the address by the President which led to widespread condemnation by Kenyans.
Duale though, says that it was only a few MPs who were to blame and not the whole coalition.
" What happened at Parliament during the State of The Nation Address, was a disruption by few members from Homabay County and not members of the CORD coalition," he said.
" My message to the leaders who tried to disrupt parliament is that, "If you want to lead you must accept to be led too", he added
The MPs who disrupted were led by Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi and his Mbita counterpart Milly Odhiambo.
