Drunk driver kills Kenyan activist in Nairobi accident

Nairobi - A drunk driver has taken the life of one of Kenya's most inspiring female activists in a freak road accident along Valley Road in Nairobi.
Ruth Knaust, famous for her #mydressmychoice campaign died Saturday night along the busy road after the drunk driver swerved towards her vehicle and rammed it head on.
She was rushed to the nearby Nairobi Hospital but could not be resuscitated.
Knaust had been with her two sisters at the Bomas of Kenya during the Eric Omondi untamed show.
Her sisters include K24 TV presenter Karen Knaust.
She was mourned by fellow activist Boniface Mwangi who was angered by the unnecessary loss of life.
" A great woman,mother of 2,gender activist Ruth Knaust died this morning because of a young, drunk driver. Great loss," he said on his Twitter feed.e
Police say that the driver of the vehicle will be charged with murder after preliminary tests showed that he was over the prescribed limit at the time of the accident.
