Nakuru - Assistant Chief from Mawingu location in Molo, Joseph Rotich, who was captured in a video being drunk, has been fired.
Addressing the media in Nakuru town on Wednesday, Rift Valley Coordinator Wanyama Musiambo said Rotich was dismissed immediately for being drunk while at work.
Musiambo said Rotich admitted that he has been drinking chang’aa from the local brewers in the area.
He added that Rotich will Thursday be arraigned before a Nakuru law court for being a drunk.
“We have dismissed Rotich for being drunk at work and also permitting the brewing of chang’aa at his location of Mawingu,” he said.
Rotich was captured on a video which went viral on social media when President Uhuru Kenyatta was touring Molo Sub County last week.
Surprisingly, the fired chief was still drunk during the press briefing and would constantly be seen swinging from his chair aimlessly.
