Drama as suspected shoplifters cause accident in town

Nairobi - Drama unfolded yesterday evening in Nyahururu town when six suspected shoplifters caused a minor accident in Nyahururu town when fleeing.
The gang of five men and one lady was said to have entered one of the leading supermarkets at around 5 pm posing as customers.However, their mission was detected by employees who raised alarm prompting their escape but left behind the female accomplice.
On their escape mission with their salon car parked outside the supermarket, a panicked driver carelessly shoved the car hitting another on the road causing a minor accident with no injuries reported apart from damaged touring wagon car.
The five men escaped on foot abandoning the vehicle while the female suspect was arrested with paints worth Sh 500.
At the same time, the management of the Supermarket confirmed that they lost nothing and thanked police officers quick response.
Confirming the incident, Nyandarua North OCPD Timothy Odingo said that they managed to respond to the alarm immediately the incident occurred arresting the suspect with goods worth Sh 500.
Odingo said that the suspect was forced to pay immediately before being taken to the police station as their vehicle was towed to the same station.
“The suspect is in our custody right now and is being questioned by the CID as police hunt the rest of the gang,” Odingo said.
He further added that they have ensured tight security in the region noting that that they cannot let such people make away with it
