DPP Tobiko wants Kuria's bail removed
12 December 2015, 11:12
Nairobi - Director of Public Prosecutions DPP Keriako Tobiko wants the bail handed to Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria cancelled.
Tobiko says that Kuria does not deserve any bail seeing as he has violated his previous bail conditions on a number of occasions.
Kuria was granted the KES 1 million cash bail last week after spending four days in custody over hate speech allegations.
However, Tobiko says that the MP is undeserving of the remorse.
" That in further defiance of the court order, the respondent on January
11, 2015 posted content to his Facebook page referring to bible verse
referring to the cultural practice of circumcision,” the DPP's office stated.
Kuria was not available for comment on the matter.
The MP has been in several run ins with the law over his hate comments, with some feeling that he is doing things on purpose.
Kuria is in trouble for asserting that youths take up arms against opposition leaders who have been haggling for the removal of National Youth Service NYS bosses.
